Resonant Solidity
The form originates from the balance between stillness and change. The wood holds the memories of its past life where every cut uncovers something new. The curves and sharp points seem to become almost caught in quiet motion, being shaped carefully with an almost intuitive flow. New shapes and rhythms emerge with every action taking place, creating a sculpture that is solid yet fluid, grounded yet alive. It explores how something permanent and heavy can provide a sense of presence and fluidity. Each piece cut and rearranged become something new,a form, a memory, a presence.
The intricate details of the grain that are revealed by precise cuts then inverted from a simple solid block of wood to create a new flowing fluid-like form. Simple yet elegant curves that rise and fall into a sharp point, then continue to sweep and flow while creating a sense of movement with solidity.
