Void and Volume

1st Year, 2021, Scott Poole & David Matthews

The exploration begins with a solid block. The action of subtracting rather than adding creates a new form. Voids emerge to reveal an internal spatial condition that is hidden within the mass. Every cut and carve soon becomes an act of discovery, allowing light to enter and define the depths of the space. The outcome captures a balance between solidity and openness within the form, allowing an absence to become meaningful.
